The Pleats Stool is an aluminum stool with elegant folded patterns in a rigid structure. With a simple stamping manufacturing process, this stool is made out of a single sheet of aluminum with no waste of material. The rectangular shape minimizes the loss of material occurring in the fabrication process. In addition, no additional materials are mixed in the manufacturing process, making recycling easier even when the product has reached the end of its useful life.
This stool is designed especially for the outdoor environment. The folded part of the body creates several valleys, which help the water to escape easier after the rain. Taking inspiration from fan palm leaves, which have large yet folded surfaces in order to absorb as much sunlight as possible for photosynthesis, these wide valleys are created to make the stool dry faster under the sunlight.
