Sonic Electronic Toothbrush, 2020
Design that expresses functionality aesthetically
The biggest difference between an electric toothbrush and a regular toothbrush is the presence or absence of vibration. The electric toothbrush motor generates micro vibrations and creates waves, the power of the wave removes foreign substances between the teeth.
The design and name of 'The Wave' was inspired by these physical actions. The movement of water created through the waves in the water was applied as a pattern on the surface of the toothbrush. The translucent material of the toothbrush case gives the toothbrush the appearance of being actually underwater when stored. This pattern not only provides visual beauty, but also provides a texture that is easy to grip in the environment in which we brush our teeth. The finely angled surface counteracts the slippage created by the soap and makes brushing more comfortable.
